Welcome to the University of Surrey Equestrian and Polo Club!!!

The University of Surrey Equestrian and Polo Club provides opportunities for all riders from those who are advanced to those who are complete beginners. We offer lessons which teach you the complete basics up to advanced level. We put on a bit of everything from gymkhanas and hacking to polo, dressage and jumping all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere!

For those looking for a competitive edge there is the opportunity to try out for one of our three BUCS teams where you will represent Surrey in our competition league against other universities. We also have SUPA teams for those of you who want to learn to play competitive polo, with two tournaments every year! With events such as Varsity, Colours Ball, an annual riding tour and many organised social events we try to get together as much as we can to party as a club!

We ride at Silvermere Equestrian Centre every Wednesday afternoon and our Novice riders ride on a Thursday evening. Teams also train at Silvermere on a Monday Evening.  There is a booking in hour every Monday where you will be able to email the club in order to book a lesson for the Wednesday or Thursday. Then all you have to do is meet us outside GSA on the day!

Our polo riders train with Conroy Polo throughout the whole year with the winter sessions in an arena and summer sessions being out on the grass pitch! Even if you've never ridden a horse before, feel free to come and try your hand at polo. Be warned, it's highly addictive!!

This year our signatories are:
Jack Church - Equestrian Chair
William Heaton - Polo Chair
Millie Smiles - Treasurer

COVID-19 Notice:

Unfortunately this year we cannot provide exactly the same activities and opportunities as usual, due to Covid-19 restrictions from Team Surrey, our external venues and the Government.
Regretfully, Silvermere Equestrian Centre cannot provide us with beginner riding lessons at this current time. This is due to the extra help that beginners need from staff when first starting out, unfortunately this help cannot be provided within the social distancing guidelines set out by the Government.
If you are wanting to learn to ride with our club, please do still get in contact with us and we can make sure you are informed when we are able to provide beginner lessons once again.
